About Judy Wood Ceramics

I started playing with clay in 1969, and have been hooked ever since!

In 1975 I moved my family to Warkworth, and built the first woodfiring kiln near Kaipara Flats, and then found my special place in the Waiwhiu in 1979, where these bricks have become 3 more kilns.

A group of local Potters became Warkworth Town Potters in 1985, 11 of us, and in 1987 our group enlarged to become the Warkworth Craft Gallery Cooperative, successful for around 25 years.

I've enjoyed classes and courses, including with Dorothy Hafner at Anderson Ranch in Colorado, and in Devon with Sandy Brown, for which I received an Arts Council grant.
My work has won a couple of awards, and been accepted into many exhibitions, including NZ Sculpture on North Shore. I'm still making, and love sharing this magical space with my students.

With love, Judy.
